Happy 3-week Birthday to the Krinkle Kids!
They took the plunge into their very first solid meal this morning. They've been sniffing around and licking at mama Dots' bowl when she eats, so we knew it was time.
But boy!...they surprised us with both their appetites and their skill at consuming their first solid raw meal. Most pups make an absolute mess...gumming it, walking in it, crawling all over each other and the bowl.
Smoochy was a little fussy, and tried to crawl through/over the bowl and her sister once, but for the most part, they just dove right in, as if they've been eating solid foods forever. You can hear them slurping and munching and snuffling at it with real enthusiasm! This was a ground turkey & pork blend with a high bone content for growing pups.
We snagged some video of this milestone, and you can also see that they've graduated to the much bigger whelping pool, and we've started potty training with their puppy litter boxes.
They've also begun early crate-training, as they travel to and from Jen's work in a travel crate.

That video!!!! So cute their little sounds! Love how some ate and then wandered around while Tommi was committed to eating that whole side of the dish, haha.
ReplyDeleteRight?! Tommi & Spinner seem the most 'into' sticking to the bowl until they're filled up. Spins ate so much at his second try, he urped some back up, poor guy...they'll figure it out more and more as the days go on. The real fun will begin in a few more days when I give them whole pieces of chicken necks to figure out. They do just like wolf cubs would in the wild - drag them around, 'fight' over them, suck on them, tear bits off - it's amazing to watch.
